Come a Little Bit Closer

Come A Little Bit Closer (The Sullivans #7) By: Bella Andre

Plot:

Fame, fortune, and falling in love… Movie star Smith Sullivan can’t afford any distractions. He’s staking his entire reputation on his new film…but he can’t stop thinking about Valentina Landon and the fire he sees smoldering just beneath the surface of her cool exterior. Valentina isn’t averse to sensual pleasure, or even to the idea of finding true love, but as a Hollywood business manager she’s watched too many smart women fall for actors…only to be torn apart when the fairy tale comes to its inevitable end. But when intense weeks together on set turn their heated attraction into red-hot flames of passion, Smith knows he has to find a way to convince Valentina to let him get a little bit closer. Close enough to completely steal her heart…the way she’s stolen his from the beginning.

Review:

I’m getting tired of the whole ‘we shouldn’t be together it will never work’ thing. I feel like its been in almost every book in the series.

Smith and Valentina were a good couple, she just didn’t date actors. She should have realized he was different. He’s a Sullivan for crying out loud. She finally woke up to his complete awesomeness and of course that’s when he decided to push her away. Thankfully this lasted briefly and not a week like the last Sullivan.

This is the problem with binge reading. All the similarities in the series are more evident because they are so fresh. The series is still good, I’m just not as willing to put up with it.

Let Me Be the One (The Sullivans #6) By: Bella Andre

Let Me Be The One

Let Me Be the One (The Sullivans #6) By: Bella Andre

Plot:

How far would you go for a friend? Back in San Francisco preparing for her big art show, Vicki Bennett needs help protecting herself and her career from the unwelcome advances of one of the judges. She knows that her longtime friend and baseball star, Ryan Sullivan, will know just how to handle things, and he’s the only person she can imagine asking for help. Ryan is thrilled to have Vicki back in his life, and he will do anything to protect her from harm, including playing the role of “pretend boyfriend.” But when their staged kisses and caresses lead to an incredibly sensual night, they both worry that they may have damaged their friendship forever. Have they made the worst mistake possible? Or is the perfect combination of friendship and love finally within reach?

Review:

There’s something about books starring baseball players. They always make me think of summer and good times with friends. Not to mention great uniforms.

Ryan and Vicki’s story was sweeter than the other Sullivans. Not to say the racy scenes weren’t plentiful and hot. Ryan and Vicki had loved each other during high school, but too afraid to lose a friend neither did anything about it. Now that they’re adults and currently free things happen.

There was a decent villain in this story, though I’ve noticed that Andre doesn’t really let her men beat the crap out of the jerks trying to take advantage of their women. Chase beat up Chloe’s ex-husband but I think that’s it. The side of me that thirsts for vengeance would prefer a bit more violence toward the douches in this series.

If You Were Mine (The Sullivans #5) By: Bella Andre

If You Were Mine

If You Were Mine (The Sullivans #5) By: Bella Andre

Plot:

Can two people who have both sworn off love find forever in each other’s arms? Find out in IF YOU WERE MINE, the fifth book in Bella Andre’s bestselling Sullivan family contemporary romance series.

The last thing Zach Sullivan wants is to take care of his brother’s new puppy for two weeks. Until he meets the dog trainer, that is. Heather is bright, beautiful, and he can’t stop thinking about her. Unfortunately, she just might be the only woman on earth who wants nothing to do with him.

Heather Linsey can’t believe she’s stuck working with one of the city’s top dogs, auto-shop tycoon Zach Sullivan. Especially when his focus is clear from the start—not only to learn how to deal with his temporary puppy…but also to make Heather his. Having sworn off love at seventeen when she realized it was nothing more than a pack of lies, she has stuck to her vow never to fall for a charming man.

But as Heather’s determination to push Zach away only fuels his determination to get closer—and the sensual and emotional connection between them grows more and more undeniable—will the biggest Sullivan bad boy of all tempt her into believing in love again?

Review:

I am not a dog person, but I fell in love with Atlas and Cuddles. They seriously stole the show in this book. Sure Zach is the hottest Sullivan and yeah Heather has an interesting back story, but those dogs were precious. Precious I tell you!

Zach and Heather were fine. I thought that Zach’s emotional response to so many people telling him he’s exactly like his father was believable. However I kept on waiting for more from Heather. Cutting yourself seems so extreme because your dad habitually cheats on your mom. I kept expecting more. I probably don’t understand it well enough.

I Only Have Eyes For You (The Sullivans #4) By: Bella Andre

I Only Have Eyes For You

I Only Have Eyes For You (The Sullivans #4) By: Bella Andre

Plot:

In I ONLY HAVE EYES FOR YOU, Sophie Sullivan, a librarian in San Francisco, was five years old when she fell head over heels in love with Jake McCann. Twenty years later, she’s convinced the notorious bad boy still sees her as the “nice” Sullivan twin. That is, when he bothers to look at her at all. But when they both get caught up in the magic of the first Sullivan wedding, she knows it’s long past time to do whatever it takes to make him see her for who she truly is…the woman who will love him forever. Jake has always been a magnet for women, especially since his Irish pubs made him extremely wealthy. But the only woman he really wants is the one he can never have. Not only is Sophie his best friend’s off-limits younger sister…he can’t risk letting her get close enough to discover his deeply hidden secret. Only, when Sophie appears on his doorstep as Jake’s every fantasy come to life–smart, beautiful, and shockingly sexy–he doesn’t have a prayer of taking his eyes, or his hands, off her. And he can’t stop craving more of her sweet smiles and sinful kisses. Because even though Jake knows loving Sophie isn’t the right thing to do…how can he possibly resist? (love story, contemporary romance, alpha heroes, beach reads, sexy romance, bad boys, falling in love)

Review:

I like when the bad boy gets love. Andre kept on calling Jake a bad boy and the Sullivans certainly thought he was incapable of love. Which was weird actually. One of them knew his life story but he too thought Jake couldn’t love. Jake had an abusive dad and sometimes growing up had to resort to violence to protect himself. That by no means, means that you can’t love. You need love more than anyone.

Oh well. Sophie and her mom knew Jake was worth it.

I wasn’t too fond of the one week to prove that she should marry him, but it could have been worse. Whatever you do don’t read a book titled One night, Two babies. It’s horrible. These two books have similarities in plot, but Andre’s is worlds better.

Can’t Help Falling in Love (The Sullivans #3) By: Bella Andre

Can't Help Falling in Love

Can’t Help Falling in Love (The Sullivans #3) By: Bella Andre

Plot:

Get ready for another Sullivan bad boy to fall in love in the third book of Bella Andre’s bestselling contemporary romance series! Gabe Sullivan risks his life every day as a firefighter in San Francisco. But after learning a brutal lesson about professional boundaries, he knows better than to risk his heart to his fire victims ever again. Especially the brave mother and daughter he saved from a deadly apartment fire…and can’t stop thinking about. Megan Harris knows she owes the heroic firefighter everything for running into a burning building to save her and her seven-year-old daughter. Everything except her heart. Because after losing her navy pilot husband five years ago, she has vowed to never suffer through loving – and losing – a man with a dangerous job again. Only, when Gabe and Megan meet again and uncontrollable flames of desire ignite between them, how can he possibly ignore her courage, determination, and beauty? And how can she deny not only his strong bond with her daughter, but the way his sweetly sensual kisses are challenging her to risk everything she’s been guarding for so long? This winter, if one – or both – of them aren’t careful, they just might end up falling in love.

Review:

I didn’t like this one as much as the previous two. I’m not sure why though. Maybe it was because I read it back to back with the previous one and I really liked the previous two? I don’t know.

Gabe and Megan were an alright couple. Megan’s daughter Summer was fine too. I just didn’t get into them as much. Maybe it was Megan’s fears? Some were completely justified others I just thought she should be able to see through.

Like I said, I’m not sure why I didn’t like this one as much. Oh well on to the next!
