Director:

Gil Junger

Starring:

Francia Raisa

Mike ‘The Miz’ Mizanin

Will Greenberg

Plot:

A former bounty hunter turns into an elementary schoolteacher. Determined to have a normal life and keep her bounty hunter past a secret, she reluctantly returns home for Christmas to help save the family business by catching the one bounty that got away. But when her fiancé follows her home for the holiday, she struggles to hide her wild family business and a bounty hunter ex-boyfriend she thought she’d left behind.

Review:

Wow, I’ve seen some bad Christmas movies (I normally like them) this one though is up there. Bounty hunters and Christmas are a weird combination but I think I could see how it could work. There’s just too much on top of that though. Did I mention they’re from New Jersey and fit every Jersey stereotype? How about the fact that the main character is a woman trying to escape that life but who gets sucked back in when a bounty she caught years ago gets out of jail? Her fiancé of course doesn’t know about her real life, that is until he’s kidnapped. Also, even though he was willing to accept her for who she was, she dumped him for the muscles from her past.

Best Man Holiday (2013)

The Best Man Holiday

Director:

Malcolm D. Lee

Starring:

Monica Calhoun

Morris Chestnut

Melissa De Sousa

Taye Diggs

Terrance Howard

Plot:

When college friends reunite after 15 years over the Christmas holidays, they discover just how easy it is for long-forgotten rivalries and romances to be reignited.

Review:

The previews for this movie made me thing comedy. There were some funny elements, mainly from Terrance Howard, but this movie was mainly about rebuilding relationships. I cried a lot.

I saw the ending coming, there were just too many signs. My husband laughed at the football scene just because they used every cliché possible.

Overall it wasn’t a bad movie but it wasn’t anything remarkable either.
