Starring:

Anthony Mendez

Camille Collard

Andrea Navedo

Gina Rodriguez

Plot:

A young, devout woman discovers that she was accidentally artificially inseminated.

Review:

Wow was not expecting to like this show. The premise is so out there, very much like the telenovela that is depicted in the show. The amount that happens in the first episode is more than some series do in an entire season. I’m really curious to see if they’re going to be able to keep that pace up. Also I think I might want to try watching a Telenovela, maybe I will learn Spanish that way.

Cristela (2014-?)

Starring:

Cristela Alonzo

Maria Canals-Barrera

Terri Hoyos

Gabriel Iglesias

Plot:

In her sixth year of law school, Cristela is finally on the brink of landing her first big (unpaid) internship at a prestigious law firm. The only problem is that her pursuit of success is more ambitious than her traditional Mexican-American family thinks is appropriate. She’s stuck straddling the old culture she’s trying to modernize at home with her working-class family and the modern world she’s trying to embrace in her professional career. Breakout comedian Cristela Alonzo stars in this hilarious comedy about laughing your way down the path to the new American dream.

Review:

I wasn’t expecting much from this show and basically only decided to watch it because I felt like I needed to add more to my comedy line-up. I am so glad I did. I laughed out loud so many times while watching this episode and I already love Cristela. She’s hilarious, smart, witty, and obviously loves her family. She’s constantly pushing to break out of the boxes people are putting her into and encouraging her family to do the same. I’m really looking forward to the rest of the season and I hope that it gets all the love it deserves.

Candice Patton

Rick Cosnett

Plot:

Review:

Awesome! This was the show I was most excited for and it was my favorite pilot so far.

There were a few heavy handed parts when people were talking about heroes and courage and all that junk; but overall I really liked it and I’m excited for the rest of the series.

Liked the casting. Liked the story. I’m glad they’re finally introducing powers to the Arrow/Flash universe. Looking forward to crossovers and the way the series develops. Hopefully it’s like Arrow and gets better as it goes.

Star Wars Rebels (2014-?)

Star Wars Rebels (2014-?)

Network:

Disney X D

Starring:

Vanessa Marshall

Freddie Prinze Jr.

Steve Blum

Plot:

A brave and clever ragtag starship crew stands up against the evil Empire as it tightens its grip on the galaxy and hunts down the last of the Jedi Knights.

Review:

This show was obviously not geared toward the twenty-eight year old female fan. Go figure.

It didn’t destroy my childhood, like I feared, but it definitely didn’t have anything I wanted to watch. It was very Disney, it ticked a lot of “Star Wars” boxes, and I thought it talked down to the kids.

Probably not going to watch anymore.

A to Z (2014-?)

A to Z

A to Z (2014-?)

Network:

NBC

Starring:

Ben Feldman

Cristin Milioti

Henry Zebrowski

Plot:

Andrew and Zelda date for eight months, three weeks, five days, and one hour. This television program is the comprehensive account of their relationship.

Review:

Really liked the beginning of this episode, probably because of the Celine Dion song. The rest of the episode was fine but didn’t quiet reach that high for me. Of course the only reason I decided to watch was because of Cristin Milioti, so I went in with no expectations.

I’m interested to see how they do this time line, since they’ve already said exactly how long the relationship is going last. Or did they? There are clearly loop holes in the plot synopsis so we’ll see what happens.
