Thoughts:

I was lazy and watched Aladdin on Disney+ instead of pulling out my Bluray copy. It may look better on the disc, but I thought it looked pretty good. Since I watched it that way, I saw that Disney now has a warning at the beginning of the movie about how culturally insensitive the depictions are. I thought that was nice.

It’s hard watching something with Robin Williams in it. His voice is so recognizable, and this movie was one of the few VHSs that I had growing up, so I watched it a lot. I think Williams was the first actor I grew up with that has passed away. It hurts a little to hear him.

The story is much more sexualized than I remember. Jasmine’s clothes were always revealing for a kid’s movie, but I missed other things. What is it with Disney in big-busted triplets?

Honestly, I didn’t think the movie was as amazing as I remember it, but it’s still good. My kids seemed to like it, and the music is still amazing.

Disney Toybox: Aladdin and Genie

Alright, so it’s been a while, but we’ve finally got some new Disney Toybox figures. Whoohoo! Sadly, they are not appearing on the Disney Store online and I haven’t been able to get to the one and only Disney store within 100 miles of me, so I don’t have any pictures.

However, SuperSorrell has got an unboxing video of the Genie. Apparently it’s going to be number 12 in the Disney line, there’s a picture of Aladdin on the back of the box too.

Sadly, there is not a flyer in the box letting us know if there are any more figures planned or anything hinting at anything else coming for the Toybox line. I really, really hope that doesn’t mean the toys are canceled because they are just too awesome to be discontinued. I neeeeeeeed my Captain Marvel figure!!!

Anyway, as soon as I see images up in the store I will add it to my lists! Until then enjoy this great unboxing video from SuperSorrell!
