Disney Toybox: Spider-Man and Toy Story Sets BONUS Maui & Moana

I was able to go to the Disney Store this weekend, and or course I picked up a couple Toybox figures. I’ll post some pics of them later, for now I wanted to share some pics of the two sets I saw.

These were both, currently, out of my price range at over $60, but they looked great! Spider-Man’s Dune Buggy makes noise and just going on the heft of the packaging seemed really solid. If you missed out on Spider-Man when he was released earlier this wouldn’t be a bad way to pick him up.

Bullseye makes the Toy Story set completely worth it. He is freaking adorable.

The store was super crowded because of a costume event going on so I wasn’t able to get any more pics, sorry, but I did pick up Boba Fett, Luke, and Yoda. Finally, Yoda! Excited for my purchases and still loving this series. I actually looked for a good display shelf to put over my desk but the one I liked was out of stock, of course. I’ll just have to keep looking.

Before I leave, I wanted to post a link to SuperSorrell’s Instagram where they have some amazing pics of Maui and Moana which are NEW Disney Toybox figures! Apparently, they were leaked or released early at a South London Disney Store. They look so AWESOME!!! Here’s a link to their YouTube unboxing video as well.

These came out of nowhere and don’t seem to have been shown on any of the flyers I’ve seen floating around the internet. As a big Moana fan I’m ridiculously excited by these and have poured over the images. Apart from Moana’s feet looking a little weird in the images posted, I think they look incredible! A bit bummed that I didn’t see them in the Disney Store when I was there, but oh well. Adding them to the list!

Disney Toybox Stars Wars Updates

I’ve been checking the Disney Store a couple times a day for Yoda, but so far no such luck. However, SuperSorrell has recently posted some pics on their Instagram as well as an unboxing video. So he’s real! They’re just dragging their feet on adding it to their online shop. That makes sense in a digital world.

I did find something new today, though. The Millennium Falcon Star Wars Play Set!

Millennium Falcon Star Wars Play Set

At a whopping $79.95 this set comes with Han and Chewie, who both come with their accessories, though, they aren’t pictured. The Falcon, which has sound effects! The engine and blasters light-up! Retractable landing gear, hinged landing ramp, rotating freaking turret with missile launcher, rotating satellite dish, and detachable roof panels.

There’s a lot, but there should be with that price tag. I really want to see this in action, because the pictures aren’t really selling it to me, but that list of features is pretty awesome. Really curious to see the Tie Fighter now. Will it make noise and flash lights? How much will it be? Who knows!!

Here are a couple more pics of the Millennium Falcon set that are on the Disney Store website.

Disney Toybox Wave 6 Speculation

So what is and isn’t Wave 6 I’m not 100% on because there doesn’t seem to be an official website and different websites say different things and the flyers included with the toys are often wrong.

I was able to find some images of the most recent flyer over on Toy News International forum posted by JayC

There are also images of sets that should already be out. I’ve seen images of the Toy Story set which makes me a bit sad that I bought Buzz already because buying a set would make so much more sense. The rumor is that Frozone and Bullseye both have their own codes so they should be released separate, but they aren’t shown on the lists or grayed out so we’ll have to wait and see. I hope we get them.

Also, wtf is that between Edna and Frozone?

The Star Wars sets look so cool (can you tell I’m a fan lol). Han Solo was going to be my next purchase and I’m glad that I waited. I do wonder how big the Falcon is and if it does anything besides look neat. We’re also shown a Tie Fighter and Pilot set that’s interesting. Other than that, though, there are no clues about what’s coming out for Star Wars next. Yoda is shown, but he should be in stores and be a part of Wave 5.

Based on these images Thanos should be out, though, I haven’t seen him anywhere. They’ve also listed him as #12 but Gray Hulk has been assigned that number. So are we getting Thanos? The speculation on the forum is that the grayed out figures are part of Thanos Black Order and I can certainly see that in the silhouettes, but come on, seriously? We’re getting bad guys before some more female characters? Ugh. Come on Disney.

There also seems to be some sets coming out from Marvel. Hulkbuster and Hulk, so if you’ve missed Hulk when he was originally released you’ve got a second chance to pick him up. Also, Spider-Man and his…Dune Buggy. *eye roll*

The grayed out images for the Disney line seem to be Minnie Mouse and Stich. Minnie makes sense since we’ve got Mickey, but I’m kind of hoping I’ve missed the guess with Stich because that doesn’t really make sense. Is there a new Lilo and Stich movie coming out? A TV show? Seems a bit random.

I’m sure it’s probably the same person or team working on all the lines, but the Star Wars and Pixar lines seem much more thought out than the Marvel and maybe now Disney. I hope I’m wrong, and just based on Google searches it’s entirely possible those silhouettes could be wrong. We’ll just have to wait and see.

As of right now I don’t have a release date for any of the Wave 6 figures.

*UPDATE*

There is going to be a Live Action Lilo and Stich movie so maybe that explains the new Toybox figure? Still seems a bit early, but at least it’s not so completely out of left field.

*2nd UPDATE*

It seems like the Minnie Mouse and Stich images were incorrect because we’ve now got Maui and Moana figures in those spots. So basically, the flyers are nice speculation but take them with a healthy dose of salt.

Disney Toybox Figures: Star Wars Line

Kylo Ren was the first Star Wars figure to come out in the Star Wars Disney Toybox line and currently it is the only figure, in that line, that is no longer available on their website. Yoda has been announced, but I’m unaware of the release date at this time.

Princess Leia is what started my obsession with these toys. Her face is perfect, the attitude and competence this little figure exudes is spot on for the character. This is the line I am most excited for and money willing I will be able to collect them all.

Where I can I’ve added Amazon links, but always check the price because it will fluctuate.

Thoughts and Speculation

They seem to be bouncing all over the place with the Star Wars characters. We’ve got original trilogy and new, which is nice. They’ve elected to have the younger versions of the characters, except in Han’s case (thank god).

Yoda is the only figure currently announced that has not yet been released but with the popularity of Star Wars I’m sure there are many more in the pipeline. They specified that the Stormtrooper is a First Order one, so that hints at more to come.

I’m really excited by this visual interpretation of the characters. They are cute, without going too far in that direction. They still have attitude. The women have not been sexualized, but they are still very clearly feminine.

I’m looking forward to a Finn, Poe, and Rose figure. I really hope that we get a Holdo figure as well, but that’s probably going to be a stretch. Obi Wan, Queen Amidala, and Qui Gon Gin would be fun too. I wonder if they will end up doing older versions of the characters they’ve done? That would be fun. General Leia. Crotchety Han. So many awesome characters in the franchise. So many directions they could go. Exciting!

Disney Toybox Figures Epic List

My current obsession. I don’t normally post about things that aren’t books, TV, or movies, and I’ve got a few TV Pilot reviews to write and post, but I just love these figures. I originally posted this on my Tumblr but thought I’d share the posts over here too. Enjoy!

With Disney Infinity no longer a thing Disney decided to take the adorable art style and make straight up toys. As someone who always loved the DI figures I’m very happy with this decision. So far I only have one of the figures, but it is well made, with several moveable joints, a great facial expression, and a removable item. Since, I’m choosing to just sit it there and marvel at it’s wonderfulness I do wish they’d included a stand, Princess Leia ends up leaning against my speaker.

The Disney Toybox toys are in four different collections, currently. Though the above picture only shows three. There is Star Wars, Pixar, Marvel, and Disney. They seem to be coming out in waves, and each figure is numbered specifically for their collection.

With a $12.95 price tag they are a bit pricier than a normal child’s toy so it’s obvious that Disney is banking on the collector market with these. They are a quality toy, but even with the Disney brand attached they are still just a toy, so I find it difficult to believe that many parents are buying these for their children.

Here is a list of the released figures for all those, like me, who wish to collect them, I have also included Amazon links at the bottom when I can, just click on the picture of the figure you like. (I will try to keep this list up to date as my obsession continues):
