Plot:

The quiet life of a terrier named Max is upended when his owner takes in Duke, a stray whom Max instantly dislikes.

Review:

Talk about a bait and switch. The trailer for this movie was basically just the first few minutes which ended up not being an accurate depiction of what the entire film would be about. So glad that I didn’t take my daughter to see this or that we didn’t purchase it someone else did.

Instead of being more of the animals doing silly ridiculous things we got to watch a whiny dog that didn’t want to share his owner come to grips with the fact that he was no longer an only child. It wasn’t funny and neither of the main dogs was likeable.

The side story of the friends trying to find them was really the only entertaining part but it wasn’t enough to change my opinion of the movie.

At least my daughter (3) seemed to like it.

Russell Brand

Plot:

When a criminal mastermind uses a trio of orphan girls as pawns for a grand scheme, he finds their love is profoundly changing him for the better.

Review:

I’m not sure why but I didn’t like this one as much as the second. I should have. Part of why I liked the second one was how adorable Gru was with the kids and there was certainly this, but it just didn’t get me like it does in the sequel.

My daughter liked this one better. Well, she paid attention more with this one. She’s still little though so movies aren’t really her thing.

I wonder why they picked those names for the girls? Very old lady names, I wonder if that was on purpose?

Still really cute movie and evidently I can look forward to more in the future.

Review:

Adorable. That’s Despicable Me 2 in one word.

I haven’t seen the first movie but I figured since it was a kids movie that wouldn’t be a problem. It wasn’t. I’m sure there were little things that I missed because of it but it didn’t make the movie any less cute.

Gru as an over protective father was funny. The minions were hilarious.

Loved it!

Now I need to see the first one.
