Review:

I waited until the second part of the pilot was aired before writing my review and that’s the only reason this is so late. Only reason. Right.

Anyway, I’ve been hyped about this since I found out Arthur Darvill was going to be in it, then I saw the trailer and my hype levels grew. I’m happy to say that the pilot delievered on everything I was hoping for. It was an epic time travel superhero TV show, with characters I’m already familiar with and enjoy.

Rip Hunter, Darvill, has pretty clichéd reasoning for doing what he’s doing but I enjoyed when he told the “Legends” why they were chosen for the mission.

I liked the look and feel of the show and loved the cheesiness. Thought the villains might be my favorite part, they’re funny and provide a new point of view.

Arrow Season Four Episode One – Green Arrow – CW Wednesday @ 8 EST

Life has been a bit hectic in my house so I apologize for missing a post, it probably won’t be the last because I’m very behind on a lot of things. Life, man.

Anyway, Arrow was probably not the best episode of television I’ve watched this week, but it was certainly the one I had the most comments on. I’ll start off with what I disliked and then try and end on a positive.

Did not like Diggle’s new costume, the helmet looked very cumbersome and like it would be more of a hindrance then a help in a fight situation. Also didn’t like any of the Felicity/Oliver scenes, which makes me sad. I’ve loved Felicity since the beginning, but I really don’t think she should have gotten together with Oliver, they just don’t work as a couple. It’s too domestic, maybe when he’s older, way older, but not now. I can only see one satisfying way out for the character, though, and I don’t like it.

Pros. I liked Thea. She’s clearly enjoying her new violent lifestyle and I think it might be interesting to see how far she’ll go before realizing she has a problem. It is a CW show so they had to throw in the big brother talk and her brushing him off like a silly teenager, but since the Felicity/Oliver bits were worse it was easy to overlook.

I also noticed that Oliver and Diggle seem to be a lot more buff then they were, especially Diggle. It’s obvious what they were doing this summer.

I also liked the addition of mysticism in the Arrow/Flash universe. It’s in DC comics so I’m glad to see it enter the TV shows.

The surprise at the end I totally didn’t see and then the very ending could end up being so many people that I’m only sixty percent sure I know who it is.

Ultimately I’m looking forward to the new season but this episode didn’t blow me away.

Rose McIver

Malcolm Goodwin

Rahul Kohli

Plot:

A medical student finds that being a zombie has its perks, which she uses to assist the police.

Review:

Not the biggest fan of zombies but I feel that I need to know my enemy so I watch them sometimes.

iZombie definitely wasn’t going for super 28 days later scary zombies, though I think there will be something like that in the future. They seemed to be going more towards the zombies are people too, direction. Not sure how I feel about that, though, they weren’t trying to hide that in the trailers so I wasn’t blindsided.

I’m not sure if I’m going to continue watching. I had no problem with the characters or the story, but nothing really grabbed me and gave me that feeling that I had to watch to find out what happens next. It seemed like a cute show, but that’s about it.

Plot:

Review:

Wow was not expecting to like this show. The premise is so out there, very much like the telenovela that is depicted in the show. The amount that happens in the first episode is more than some series do in an entire season. I’m really curious to see if they’re going to be able to keep that pace up. Also I think I might want to try watching a Telenovela, maybe I will learn Spanish that way.

Review:

Awesome! This was the show I was most excited for and it was my favorite pilot so far.

There were a few heavy handed parts when people were talking about heroes and courage and all that junk; but overall I really liked it and I’m excited for the rest of the series.

Liked the casting. Liked the story. I’m glad they’re finally introducing powers to the Arrow/Flash universe. Looking forward to crossovers and the way the series develops. Hopefully it’s like Arrow and gets better as it goes.
