I waited until I’d seen this movie twice before I sat down to write a review. I worked very hard to keep my expectations low for this movie. Up until the trailers that was really easy to do, still I managed and I think that helped me enjoy it better. I went in with no theories or desires and I enjoyed it. I enjoyed it even more on the second viewing.
I loved the new characters, they were each so awesome that I flip flop between my favorite. I loved the fact that the main lead was a woman, I know I’ve had Leia and Padme in the last movies but it was different this time. I even liked BB-8.
What I didn’t like or really wished they’d spent more work on were the villains. Kylo Ren was a whinny little boy and I really just wanted to smack him, there was none of the fear that Vader evoked. Captain Phasma was barely in the movie which made all her merchandising misleading. Even the bad dude pulling Ren’s strings wasn’t scary. As a whole they were all seriously lacking.
I’m sure some of that will be fixed in the next movie, but I’m getting tired of movies being used to build up their sequels. Marvel is doing that way too much lately and it’s bothering me.
Anyway, this movie did not ruin my childhood and it was not the second coming, but it was a good addition to the series.

Dynamite Review 
finally someone who thinks Kylo Ren was childish! Although I do admit it kind of fit, but it was disappointing. And he doesn’t look like hit parents at all! Was he adopted or something?
And the ending war weird.
Finn was my favorite character there. Rey has some things to learn, but she has potential
and BB-8 was absolutely adorable.

I agree it fit, but I wish he’d been scarier or maybe his boss had been. Neither gave me that chill that Vader did. I honestly can’t pick a favorite from the new three, I liked aspects of all of them. Thanks for commenting.

Yes, there were no good villain here. I did like the general though. He was perfect and he treated Kylo Ren just as he deserved – like a spoiled kid 😛

He did, though I kept thinking “Is that a Weasley?” The first thing I did when I left the theater was look it up.

It was way too repetitive. Another Death Star? Another hero ascending out of a hutt run sandy planet, another father-son surprise? Another plot where heroes on the ground have to disable the shield in order for the Resistance Squadron to attack? Another Sith Lord that has appeared out of nowhere? Kylo was the poorest STARWARS character since Jar Jar. He was trained by Luke at a young age, and then he was trained by Lord Snoke. Which means he was trained by two of the most powerful beings known to us, he was Master of the Knights of Ren, and he was in charge of the StarKillerBase, and yet he’s a little tantrum pulling brat at 29years of age? Who got his ass kicked by two people who’ve never held a light sabre before? Hmmm, they better show us something new in the next one. 😡

After all the bitching Lucas got over the prequels, I think Disney was trying to play it super safe. I thought overall the story could have been better and more original, but like I said I didn’t hate it. Hopefully, now that they’ve made so much money they can develop what they’ve created more and give it it’s own thing. We’ll see. I’m interested in Rogue One coming out this year, but I really wish they’d just leave Han alone and not make a movie about him.

Yeah very safe. I just hope the next installation doesn’t continue with em harpooning AT-ATs on an Ice Planet -_- I’m very interested in Rogue one cause you have no choice but to be original with that kind of story.
