Starring:

Dan Bakkedahl

Holly J. Barrett

Betsy Brandt

James Brolin

Colin Hanks

Zoe Lister Jones

Plot:

A family comedy told through the separate stories of different family members.

Review:

The format of the show is going to take some getting used to, it’s divided up into four stories. Each were fairly funny, with the story from the oldest child’s point of view being the funniest to me.

It was a nice comedy and since I don’t have too many of those on my docket I’ll probably watch it a few more times. There wasn’t anything amazing about it though.

CBS

Starring:

Peter MacNicol

Patricia Arquette

Charley Koontz

Hayley Kiyoko

James Van Der Beek

Plot:

Special agent Avery Ryan works to solve crimes as a CyberPsychologist for the FBI.

Review:

Not sure why but I’m not a fan of Patricia Arquette, that’s ok though because I like James Van Der Beek so they cancel each other out.

Just starting the show and I’m already annoyed by the zoom they’re doing. They went really heavy handed with over dramatizing things and know almost nothing about “cyber” stuff.

It’s been a while since I’ve watched a CSI but I’m glad to see they still have the characters say stuff all dramatically and then cut to commercial.

All in all not a fan. The lengths they’ve had to go to make sitting at a computer look cool is too far for me.

Thank god James Van Der Beek saves the day.

Network:

CBS

Starring:

Jimmy Dunn

Jack McGee

Joey McIntyre

Plot:

Comedy about a sports-crazed Irish-Catholic family that shares a three decker house in Boston and the one member that dares to move out on his own.

Review:

It was funny and had a very loving family that, while insensitive, obviously loved each other. It didn’t seem like anything special but it was funny enough to keep me watching at least a few more episodes.

Ioan Gruffudd

Alana De La Garza

Lorraine Toussaint

Plot:

A 200-year-old man works in the New York City Morgue trying to find a key to unlock the curse of his immortality.

Review:

Liked this pilot. It was like a mixture of Sherlock Holmes, a cop drama, and a pinch of some supernatural. It was interesting and I’m curious to see what happens next. Happy there’s a new episode tonight.

Scorpion (2014-?)

Network:

CBS

Starring:

Elyes Gabel

Katharine McPhee

Robert Patrick

Plot:

An eccentric genius forms an international network of super-geniuses to act as the last line of defense against the complicated threats of the modern world.

Review:

Is it possible for a pilot to jump the shark? If you know anything about the internet, computers, or just technology in general this show is not for you. My eyes nearly rolled out of their sockets and my husband laughed so hard there were tears in his eyes.

Setting aside the horrible story I also didn’t like the fact that the “pretty girl” was the stupid one. Well I’m sorry she’s not stupid, she’s the only one with common sense because the geniuses are too busy thinking deep thoughts. I wish the stupid one had been a dude, a single dad would have been just as good as a single mom, it also would have been kind of new. Instead the only other female on the show, so far, is an Asian chick because only Asian women can be smart. I also hate the fact that you can clearly see they’re going to try and get the lead genius to have a thing for the “pretty girl.”

I love a good show about geniuses. This was not a good show.
