Just yesterday I posted that Simba and General Grievous had been spotted in stores. Now it looks like them as well as a new Stormtrooper are available. Simba didn’t end up being more expensive than the others. However, General Grievous is $14.99
If you’re looking to pick up any other characters Darth Maul appears to be the only one on sale right now. If you spend $75 or more you’ll get free shipping. So keep that in mind.
We’ve got a new play set on the Disney online store this morning. A Stitch Rocket Ship. The ship has working headlights, space sounds, missile launcher, and a trapdoor. It looks pretty cool, honestly. The wheels move, but it appears as though there’re just two so I’m not sure how well it will stand on it’s own. There aren’t any pictures of the bottom so hopefully there are more.
The older playsets and character sets are still on sale. That includes some of the newer ones as well. The sale makes them a much more manageable so now is the time to buy them.
It looks like Disney has lowered the price of several of their Play Sets and Figure Sets. That includes all of the new ones that have come out in the last couple of weeks. So if price was an issue for you there, you’re in luck! There’s no end date listed, but I have no reason to believe that these prices will last.
We’ve got a new set showing up in the Disney Store online today. It’s an Iron Man Hall of Armor Play Set. It comes with an Iron Man figure and two different add on suits. The figure itself doesn’t look different than the last one that came out. The suits appear to click on and I believe will work on any already released Iron Man figure.
It seems like Disney is focusing on Play Sets right now. I can see how that would bring in a younger audience, so hopefully kids like it so we continue to get cool figures.
New Figures! These are all ones that I’ve previously mentioned on the blog, but they are now all, finally, showing up in the store. IMO Sorcerer Mickey is the best one, however I wish they’d kept the style from the Disney Infinity Figure. I’m hoping that they release a special one like they did with the game as well.
Searching and comparing the Disney Infinity figure with the Toybox one was a mistake. They’ve changed the style way too much and it’s not nearly as cute anymore.
Overall, I still believe that the Star Wars line has kept to the art style the best. Marvel has always been more hit or miss, but there have been a lot more misses lately. The newest Disney figures from Coco were great, but the Peter Pan and Hook figures look like regular figures. As a fan it’s disappointing.
The Toybox line started out adorable, carrying on the torch of Disney Infinity beautifully, after it was canceled. The art style was unique and the price point was acceptable. Along the way something has changed. I don’t know what it is, but I hope things are corrected and we return to what I originally loved about the figures.
All of my lists have been updated with the new figures. I’m still missing a couple numbers on the Disney list. I honestly have no idea what I could have missed so if someone knows please let me know so I can add them.
