Library Haul 02-06-21

I got to go to the library today! It feels like forever, but maybe that’s because the last time was with my kids.

I had Ready Player 2 by Ernest Cline on hold and ready to pickup. While there I picked out two urban fantasies that are supposed to have strong female leads. I don’t have high hopes, mainly because I’m always looking for something like an Ilona Andrews book and so far the closest I’ve gotten is Patricia Briggs. Whom I like, but I haven’t been a fan of her last couple of books. So fingers crossed I love these.

I also found a Jasper Fforde book I’ve never read. So that’s awesome!

I finished the fiction books I had checked out so they’re all returned. Now I just need to read all the nonfiction. I’m working my way through Stuff You Should Know but I keep getting distracted by the paper the book is made out of. I can’t explain it but I freaking love the texture and I keep finding myself stroking it. I’m weird.

I DNFd The Twelve Dates of Christmas, but I read almost half so I will be writing a blog post. Now I’m on to my last Christmas romance book.

Written in the Stars by Alexandria Bellefleur sounds like it’s going to be an opposites attract romance with some fake relationship stuff. It sounds promising.

I’ve also started reading Stuff You Should Know by Josh Clark and Chuck Bryant. I’m a fan of the podcast so when I saw this on the new nonfiction shelf at the library I picked it up. Already, I love the texture of the paper. (Yes I know I’m weird)

Well, last night I finished reading Murder on Cold Street by Sherry Thomas and today I finished reading A Princess for Christmas by Jenny Holiday. It’s been a bit since I read an entire book in a day, but it was one of those books and one of those days. So my Cold Street review won’t post until tomorrow.

Next up! The Twelve Dates of Christmas by Jenny Bayliss. It’s another Christmas book! Lol I loved the last one so hopefully I like this one just as much. We’ll see…

2021 has been a slow start for me. Even though there was no holiday traveling last year I feel wiped out. Until recently I wasn’t able to focus on a book for any length of time. Hopefully that’s changing, but I’m not going to push myself.

So as you can see my Christmas books came in lol I’m not sure which one I’m most interested in reading, but I guess I’ll be prolonging the holiday season.

I just started The Awakening by Nora Roberts and I’ve also got a library book on my kindle to read, so I’m not sure when I’ll get to these.

I had to bail on my last book. It was YA and not doing it for me. I didn’t like the main character. Life is too short to force myself to read a book I’m not enjoying even a little.

So now I’m reading The Awakening by Nora Roberts. Based on the blurb I’m not expecting a romance. I kind of miss her romance trilogies, but I can understand as a writer wanting to try something new. I ended up mostly liking her The Chronicles of the One series, so I’m hoping to like this one too.

As you can maybe see in the background I’m also playing Splatoon. There’s a Splatfest going on right now and I try to play those. I don’t have strong feelings on the teams this time around, but the Star shirt is cooler. So *shrug*
