I meant to post about this yesterday, but oh well. SuperSorrell posted pictures on his Instagram of new blanked out teaser images for coming Disney Toybox Figures! PLUS images of a new figure, Miles Morales Spider-Man!
It’s pretty clear who the blanked out images are, click here to see the images. One is the Genie from Aladdin and one is Bo from Toy Story, however, it looks like Bo has a new outfit and look overall. Is this for the new movie?
Miles looks like Spider-Man with a different paint job. I haven’t seen either figure in person, so I could be wrong. SuperSorrell did an unboxing video if anyone is interested. I’m not a Spider-Man fan, though, I liked the newest movie, so this is not on my buy list.
It’s exciting to see new images because things have been quiet on the Disney Toybox front for me for a while. None of these figures are showing up on the Disney Store website, so if you really want Miles you’re going to have to make your way to a Disney Store for the time being.
There have been no images posted of any other possible figures, so no idea if Disney or Star Wars have anything new teased. SuperSorrell also mentions that it looks like a Venom figure that was teased has been removed. Was that the Miles Morales figure? Or did they really have a Venom one teases? Who knows?!
During my daily check of the Disney store, because yeah that’s what I do now, I noticed that they finally have links for some of the new releases! Currently, I’m on a buying freeze, for the foreseeable future, so no live shots anytime soon, but enjoy these pics and links and let me know if they’re as awesome as they look!
Maui is easily my favorite of this bunch. The detail on the tattoos looks so amazing! He is a couple dollars more than a regular figure, but that seems to be normal with the larger figures.
Moana is our newest Disney princess, I believe, so it makes sense that she’s the first princess figure we’re getting. I’m excited to see what comes next. I’ve heard that her hair can make it very difficult for her to stand up on her own and that you definitely need to position the oar in a certain way. Even with that she falls over easily.
Frozone is great to see, he’s my daughter’s favorite Incredibles character. His costume, though, is pretty basic so there isn’t much detail here. It’s just nice that they gave him an individual release.
Thanos is…Thanos. He’s a large purple dude and honestly looks a bit cheap in comparison to Maui. The detail on his armor just doesn’t seem to be there. Maybe he’s better irl?
My trips to the Disney store are starting to become a weekly thing. Sadly, this time I was not able to pick up any figures. However, I did spot Frozone and Hulkbuster!
Frozone looks better than most of the other Incredibles. His face has got a fair amount of character. His uniform is fairly simplistic, already, and the light blue really adds to that. Just based on me pouring over it in the store it’s an excellent figure.
The Hulkbuster set is weighty, with both figures being fairly heavy. Hulkbuster lights up and makes noise and Hulk stands there looking pissed and green. The set was $40, so a bit pricey, but if you missed out on Hulk earlier this is probably the cheapest way to get him and you’ll have Tony Starks Hulkbuster.
I unboxed Buzz a while ago, but he and my other figures got a photo shoot so I thought I’d share my mad photo skills.
Buzz is an awesome figure, but be forewarned if you’re buying him as a toy his jetpack comes off VERY easily and you will lose it and the wings will break. They’re very thin and just begging for little fingers to bend and break them.
His coloring and expression are perfect for the toy. Lots of attitude and teeth, definitely confident in his Star Command position.
He has a lot of posable joints and is easy to stand up on his own. I do wish he had a visor, definitely missing that component. I did have a bit of trouble with one of the knee joints, the plastic was too stiff or something and when it finally bent a bit of plastic that was apparently stuck in the joint came out. Still having issues with that knee but since I’m not playing with it, it’s no big deal.
Buzz is a pretty great figure and I look forward to hopefully being able to complete the Toy Story line. It is one of the older lines so anyone looking to collect will want to snatch them up as they seem them, though, wait. I forgot, they’ve made a collection including Bullseye, so never mind lol. Unless, you want an individual figure. Dum dum dummmmmmmmmm
