Disney Toybox: Darth Vader

I briefly toyed with the idea of making my own unboxing video with this figure because it’s the first one I’ve bought since I started posting things. After thinking about it I was on the verge of actually filming my first public youtube video when I decided to do a quick search.

There is no way I could beat the video posted by Jay C from ToyNewsi.com

Maybe if I could come up with some kind of quirky personality that filmed well, or just wore a low cut shirt, but all of that sounds like too much work. So instead, enjoy the above video posted by Jay C.

Also, since for some reason I can’t just let myself post a link to someone else’s awesome video, I’m going to include some pics of my own figures below.

If after seeing my AMAZING pictures you feel the need to rush out and buy them you can click on the below links to Amazon. Keep in mind the price does fluctuate so pay attention.

Plot:

After a turbulent, but routine flight, the passengers and crew discover the world has aged five years, yet no time has passed for them, and soon a deeper mystery unfolds.

Review:

The premise for this show is really interesting. I also enjoy Josh Dallas, so I decided to give this a try.

The first episode is basically the plot synopsis. It asked a lot of questions and didn’t answer anything. Everyone who was on that plane has had their lives turned upside down and they don’t know the full extent of it yet. Some of them seem to be hearing voices telling them to do things. Lives have moved on and relationships will never be the same.

It’s all interesting and dramatic, but can they deliver on all these questions? No idea. Right now it’s interesting enough to keep me watching, but I am concerned about the religious allusions. Lots of references to a Bible verse and the fact that they’re hearing voices has some wondering if it’s God. Not something I care to watch so I’m really hoping they don’t go that route. If it looks like they are I will be dropping it.

Plot:

The personal and professional misadventures of a woman working as a TV journalist.

Review:

You have no idea how fucking excited I was for this show reboot. I freaking hate most reboots and renewals of old shows, but this is mother fucking Murphy Brown. I watched this when I was a very little girl. I loved Murphy Brown. LOVED HER.

I hooked an antenna up to my TV, set an alarm, and watched fucking commercials so that I could watch this “pilot” live and do you want to know what? It was fucking fantastic.

Murphy was everything that my little girl brain remembered her being. She was passionate, and smart, and liberal, but she was not a fucking hate monger. She let facts back her opinion and sure that sometimes pushes her too far, but it’s a TV show.

Candice Bergen, Murphy, has been missed from my TV, and I hope I get to watch many more seasons to come.

Jake McDorman was cast as her son Avery. I loved him in Limitless so I was very happy to see him on a show I love so much. The chemistry between the two of them was spot on. He was a great son and seeing Murphy be proud of him but still competitive with him was amusing. I really liked that they have him working at a conservative network as the lone liberal. He’s passionate, just like his mother, but he’s also young so a bit more idealistic than she is. It was perfect.

Politics is so charged right now. If you are liberal you hate conservatives. If you’re conservative you hate liberals. It’s ruining the future of our country. However, I thought that this episode did a great job not lobbing insults at the other side. Part of that was Avery’s doing and his willingness to work for the “other side.” Yes, it’s a more liberal show, but I don’t think it’s adding to the hate and fear that’s currently out there. I think, I hope, that it’s trying to be better than that.

*sigh* It’s a difficult world we live in right now and I don’t envy the writers of the show, but I can’t wait to see what they have to show us and dear god please let this show not get canceled.

Disney Toybox Wave 6 Speculation

So what is and isn’t Wave 6 I’m not 100% on because there doesn’t seem to be an official website and different websites say different things and the flyers included with the toys are often wrong.

I was able to find some images of the most recent flyer over on Toy News International forum posted by JayC

There are also images of sets that should already be out. I’ve seen images of the Toy Story set which makes me a bit sad that I bought Buzz already because buying a set would make so much more sense. The rumor is that Frozone and Bullseye both have their own codes so they should be released separate, but they aren’t shown on the lists or grayed out so we’ll have to wait and see. I hope we get them.

Also, wtf is that between Edna and Frozone?

The Star Wars sets look so cool (can you tell I’m a fan lol). Han Solo was going to be my next purchase and I’m glad that I waited. I do wonder how big the Falcon is and if it does anything besides look neat. We’re also shown a Tie Fighter and Pilot set that’s interesting. Other than that, though, there are no clues about what’s coming out for Star Wars next. Yoda is shown, but he should be in stores and be a part of Wave 5.

Based on these images Thanos should be out, though, I haven’t seen him anywhere. They’ve also listed him as #12 but Gray Hulk has been assigned that number. So are we getting Thanos? The speculation on the forum is that the grayed out figures are part of Thanos Black Order and I can certainly see that in the silhouettes, but come on, seriously? We’re getting bad guys before some more female characters? Ugh. Come on Disney.

There also seems to be some sets coming out from Marvel. Hulkbuster and Hulk, so if you’ve missed Hulk when he was originally released you’ve got a second chance to pick him up. Also, Spider-Man and his…Dune Buggy. *eye roll*

The grayed out images for the Disney line seem to be Minnie Mouse and Stich. Minnie makes sense since we’ve got Mickey, but I’m kind of hoping I’ve missed the guess with Stich because that doesn’t really make sense. Is there a new Lilo and Stich movie coming out? A TV show? Seems a bit random.

I’m sure it’s probably the same person or team working on all the lines, but the Star Wars and Pixar lines seem much more thought out than the Marvel and maybe now Disney. I hope I’m wrong, and just based on Google searches it’s entirely possible those silhouettes could be wrong. We’ll just have to wait and see.

As of right now I don’t have a release date for any of the Wave 6 figures.

*UPDATE*

There is going to be a Live Action Lilo and Stich movie so maybe that explains the new Toybox figure? Still seems a bit early, but at least it’s not so completely out of left field.

*2nd UPDATE*

It seems like the Minnie Mouse and Stich images were incorrect because we’ve now got Maui and Moana figures in those spots. So basically, the flyers are nice speculation but take them with a healthy dose of salt.

*3rd Update*

Based on information from the newest insert in the Miles Morales Spider-Man figure it doesn’t appear as though the Black Order or Venom is going to be in the Marvel line. At least for now. This really drives home the point that you can’t count on the grayed out images actually coming out. Though, maybe they’re just delayed.

Lucifer Season 2 (2015-?)

Lucifer Season 2 (2015-?)

Network:

Fox

Creator:

Tom Kapinos

Starring:

Tom Ellis

Lauren German

Kevin Alejandro

D.B. Woodside

Lesley-Ann Brandt

Tricia Helfer

Rachael Harris

Plot:

Lucifer Morningstar has decided he’s had enough of being the dutiful servant in Hell and decides to spend some time on Earth to better understand humanity. He settles in Los Angeles – the City of Angels.

Review:

I watched the first season of Lucifer as it aired, enjoyed it, then promptly forgot about it. Not sure what happened there, but while killing TV time before fall premiers started I was able to binge the second season.

Lucifer, Tom Ellis, ends up revealing to his therapist, Rachael Harris, that he’s really, and truly, the devil. He shows her his true form and seeing her reactions was one of my favorite parts of the season. She reacted like any normal person would and seeing her learn everything about Heaven and Hell and Lucifer’s family was great.

The big thing with this season was that Lucifer’s mother, Tricia Helfer, showed up. She isn’t a fan of humans, but wants to have a good relationship with her sons. I had a hard time believing that as her motivation and Lucifer did too. Nothing really came of that, though. She ended up escaping to another universe or dimension or world. Some place where she could create what she wanted. And I assume, that is that, with her.

We learned some about Chloe and there was some movement on a relationship between her and Lucifer, though, I really don’t know how I feel about that.

What I enjoy most with this show is the mythology. Well, the mythology and Mazikeen, Lesley-Ann Brandt. She’s my favorite by so much. She’s a badass, and a demon, and she’s growing as a person. She says wildly inappropriate things and I love her.

Season 3 has already aired, but it’s not available on any of the streaming services I have, so I’m not sure when I’ll get to watch it. I’m going to try and not forget about the show though because it really is entertaining.
